If you are feeling tired and brave, come sit by me.
The women I work with are tired.
The women I work with are brave

There should be a word that encompasses both. The weariness we feel trying to exist in a world that wants to tell us we aren’t good enough from the very start. A world full of so many men that want to hurt us, to demean us, to keep us “in our place.” The courage it takes to be assertive, to question, to challenge. To not only ask why things are the way that they are, but to work to change them.
At the same time, this load shouldn’t be ours to carry. Because…are we not here? Do we not inhabit our bodies, our minds, our souls? We exist, and by the mere fact of our existence, we are enough. If a bird in a tree or an insect on the ground can be enough, then so can we.
The world “should” be a kinder, more tolerant place. I believe that all of us want that, but not all of us are willing to do the work to make it so. If the path to creating that world leads you to want to tell others how they should change their thoughts or their actions, then this is not the place for you. If, though, you first consider how you would like your thoughts and actions to change, then settle in.
The Common Sage was created with the notion that everyday wisdom is something we all possess; it exists in us all right here, right now. The answer to every question begins with looking within and asking questions of yourself first.
--How do I want to respond here?
--How do I want to show up?
--What do I want to say or do that I’ll feel good about afterwards?
--What are my guiding principles?
--Who do I want to become in this life?
If you have been asking some of these questions, or perhaps you want to ask them but feel a little afraid of the answers, this is a place for you. We can ask those questions and many others together, and you can count on me to be your partner in finding the answers. Working with me is certainly not the only way to answer these questions and to build a life from the inside out. However, my clients’ lives do change as a result of our work, and it’s both my calling and my deep privilege to witness it. If you need a partner like that, please reach out. I’d love to get to know you and the journey that you’re on. You don’t have to be tired and brave all on your own.

Hi, I’m Heather! I'm ready to help you achieve a more peaceful, joyful, and meaningful life.

This is my Story

Like most people, I wear a lot of hats in life. I’m a mom of three, a wife, a teacher, a coach, a volunteer, a sister, a daughter, and a friend. But I’m also more than the roles I play. I’m intuitive, deeply curious, and always listening for the things beneath the surface that matter most.
I earned my PhD in developmental psychology and have spent over two decades teaching, coaching, and walking alongside people as they discover who they are and what they’re meant to do. As a life and executive coach, I’ve worked with everyone from college students charting their first path to C-suite executives navigating high-stakes leadership.
Outside of my work, you’ll find me living a life that balances movement and stillness. I live in the Colorado countryside surrounded by pine trees, dogs, cats, and chickens. I love hiking, skiing, and camping—but I also love curling up on the couch with a detective show. I’m a social introvert, which means I love being with people but know I need space to recharge, too.
For more than 20 years, I’ve given back through community volunteering because I believe we’re all here to make a difference, no matter the size. My many interests used to feel scattered, but now I see them as the threads that make me feel most alive and connected. And what I once thought of as my “sensitivity” I now see as my superpower—it allows me to notice, care, and connect in ways that make coaching so powerful.
At the heart of it all, my purpose is simple: to help you know and trust yourself. My mission is to help you discover what makes you uniquely YOU, and to bring those gifts forward with meaning and purpose. When your time here is done, my deepest wish is that you know why you were here, what you were meant to do, and the deep satisfaction of a life well-lived.
